―Entry on Benjamin's gift

Atmoskinesis, also known as Elemental Manipulation, is Benjamin's power to control the four elements of nature - earth, wind, water, and fire, with his mind.

It is the most powerful physical supernatural ability and one of the most powerful supernatural gifts that ever existed, and therefore highly coveted by Aro, which is why Benjamin's creator, Amun, tried to keep him a secret from the Volturi fearing that he will be taken into the coven.

Benjamin has yet to gain full mastery over this power.

Description[]

This power works by Benjamin's will to manipulate natural elements, and then channel that will through his hands to call on the elements in his surrounding. It also seems to work by him sensing the elements in his surroundings and then manipulating them.

While his ability to manipulate fire is never shown, his power's manifestation began with this element before he started manifesting the other three. In battle, fire would be a devastating weapon against other vampires.

He has demonstrated his power at the Cullen's house; he creates geysers from the nearby river and practices creating gusts of wind. On another occasion before the confrontation with the Volturi, he moves boulders into an area accessible to him in case he has to fight. On the last occasion he creates a fissure in the ground, and a strong gust of wind to try and halt the advancing "mist" effect of Alec's power.

Limitations[]

Although this gift is extremely powerful, it is useless against mental attacks, the best example being his attempt to halt Alec's advancing "mist" using wind and creating a fissure in the ground, using gravity to blow away the mist with no success; this proved ineffective because the mist was only an illusion, and not a physical attack. This makes Benjamin vulnerable to mental powers, and, if not moving fast enough to defend himself, he could easily become an open target
