Octavia, born as Octavia Masen,[1] was a female founding member of her own coven and the vampiric Romanian coven, along with her husband, Zoltan, Vladimir, Stefan, Dacian, Danutza, Artur, and several others.[1]
Biography[]
Early life[]
Born some years before 1500 B.C. in Dacia,[1] Octavia Masen was born into a wealthy Dacian family with her younger twin sister, Alice Masen. At the age of 18, Alice was married off, later giving birth to Octavia's niece, Eliza. However, Alice's husband and Eliza's father turned to be abusive and a womanizer, having affairs with family servants and beating them.[1]
Eventually, her brother-in-law turned towards her; however, unlike the others and her sister, Octavia did not give in and instead fought back. However, during the struggle, Octavia sensed that her brother-in-law would try to kill her with something, and before he could get a knife out, she ran from his residence and proceeded to run from the townsfolk for days — her brother-in-law told the town residents that she came at him with a weapon and tried to kill him.[1] However, eventually, she passed out, only to awaken to a stranger biting her, transforming her into a vampire. For the next two days, Octavia withered in pain, until she was fully transformed.[1]
After being transformed, she joined her creator as a pair of nomads, traveling throughout Eurasia, but not before she went back to her brother-in-law's residence. Once, she came upon her brother-in-law, Octavia attacked and killed him for hurting her, her sister, and everyone else from over the years.[1] Looking for her sister, she found her starving to death chained up as a prisoner. After freeing Alice, Octavia learned that she gave up Eliza to a nice elderly couple that she befriended from when she was a child, which brought to her husband imprisoning her.[1] With little time left for Alice, Octavia changed her sister herself, leaving with her and her creator in a hurry, due to the town's legends. For years, the three would travel as nomads until coming across another nomad by the name of Zoltan. Over time, Octavia and the "new addition" grew close, eventually, becoming mates.[1]
